Inside the U.S.S. Leviathan

A photographic tour of the great liner's passenger spaces and life aboard—from public rooms and accommodations to dining, recreation and the upper decks. The images are presented as historical documents.

Curatorial note. The printed photographs refer to the vessel as “U.S.S. Leviathan,” while showing passenger-liner spaces and leisure activities. Their wording is preserved as evidence of the source material, not as a claim that the scenes depict wartime troopship service. The set may have circulated after the ship's postwar return to civilian service, but photographic dates, publisher, and original provenance remain unverified. Select any photograph to enlarge it.
